I am not sure why I always wish I had a cabin in the woods to go to for Thanksgiving. I for some unknown reason could see my boys hunt, not to kill but that kind of ruins the reason why one's hunt. Let me rethink this - watching the game on the TV.

Bermuda surviving the Hurricane
This beautiful island took a direct hit on Saturday. I don't know if you have ever been in a hurricane but the rain is torrential, you can hear objects being blown about, and the wind. There is a noise that goes with a hurricane and I can't believe that most of Bermuda went through this in the dark.
The house are constructed from cement block and stucco. The roof will never cave in because it is constructed of concrete and limestone.
But if anyone can withhold a hurricane is Bermuda, because of the way the houses are built (the rest of the world could take a lesson from Bermuda.

The reason why the roofs are made out of concrete and limestone is because we don't have a public water system. The water is caught on the roof and filtered into a cistern under the house. My father had me believing that there were little fish in the cistern keeping the water clean. I drank a lot of bottle water.
I am happy to say that my family came through it with no damage. Only the foliage was damaged. Good news about that is now you can see the homes that were hiding behind the foliage, bad new:
Images like this will be hard to find.
Keep on going Bermuda
